VIB (Vibration) lures are sinking, full-water-column hard baits named for the high-frequency vibrations and strong flashing effects they produce when retrieved. Below are their main uses and features:

1. Core Uses & Application Scenarios

Full-Water-Column Search: As sinking lures, VIBs allow anglers to search the surface, mid-water, or bottom layers by controlling the sink time. They are ideal for quickly searching large areas for fish activity.

Long-Distance Casting: Due to their lack of a lip, compact volume, and concentrated weight, VIBs have minimal wind resistance, offering excellent casting performance to easily reach distant spots.

Deep-Water & Bottom Fishing: Highly effective when used for "bottom hopping" or vertical jigging during autumn and winter, or when fish are holding in deep water or near underwater structure.

2. Main Target Species

Freshwater Lure Fishing: Widely used to catch ferocious predatory fish such as culter, largemouth/smallmouth bass, mandarin fish (siniperca), daubed shadoof, and northern snakehead.

Saltwater Lure Fishing: Also commonly used in saltwater for sea bass, mackerel, and trevallies.

3. Classic Retrieval Techniques

Steady Retrieve: The most basic technique; cast out and retrieve at a constant speed to make the lure vibrate with high-frequency oscillations for strong attraction.

Lift and Fall (Bottom Hopping): After letting the lure touch the bottom, lift the rod tip to make the VIB jump up, then let it free-fall back to the bottom. Many predatory fish prefer to strike as the lure descends.

Vertical Jigging: Used when boat fishing, or around bridge piers and deep vertical banks, by rhythmically lifting and dropping the rod tip to create high-frequency vibrations.
